Ground Transportation:

A variety of ground transportation options are available upon arrival, including taxi service, private car service, Uber, car rentals, and shared shuttles.

Taxis at JFK Airport (JFK) charge a flat fare of $52 for trips between the airport and Manhattan. Taxis impose a $4.50 surcharge during peak hours (4-8 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays), for a fare of $56.50 plus tolls and gratuity. There is also a NY State tax of $0.50 added to trips within New York, but not for trips to NJ. There is no set fare for trips to and from LaGuardia Airport (LGA). The regular metered rate of fare, usually $30-$40 one way plus gratuity, applies in all cases. The set fare from New York City to Newark International Airport (EWR) is the regular metered rate of fare, plus a $17.50 surcharge, plus all tolls going to and returning from the airport (approximately $55 one way, plus gratuity). Please click here for more information on the three major airports servicing NYC.
